Everything seems to be different. I cannot reach the world of yesterday. The place is the same. That\u2019s all I can recognize. Is this the same world I went to sleep yesterday?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Juxapation is a frequent feature in Leena M\u00e4ki-Patola\u2019s work. Fortune, misfortune, and unpredictability have long been essential themes. Her pieces draw from everyday events in the world. She regularly projects those events into her art. Of the Same World exhibition deals with war and peace. It captures how the experience of the world and existence can turn upside down in a second. The exhibition shows opposites. Time and timelessness, good and evil, silence and noise, peace and destruction. White and red clash. In 1983 she graduated from the Department of Ceramics at the University of Art and Design Helsinki (UIAH), the predecessor of today\u2019s Aalto University. She specializes in ceramics but also works with other mediums and techniques to achieve her intended result.<\/p>\n<p>M\u00e4ki-Patola\u2019s work can be found in the State Art Deposit Collection, Finnish Design Museum, Craft Museum of Finland, and Kuopio Art Museum.
