<\/span>Decoration 3.0<\/i><\/b> -n\u00e4yttelyss\u00e4 ornamentin ja koristeen tematiikka niveltyy teosten kantavaksi rakenteeksi.<\/span><\/p>\n

P\u00e4\u00e4motivaationa kuvien tuottamiselle toimii visuaalisen ilmaisun kehitt\u00e4minen sin\u00e4ns\u00e4. Ty\u00f6skentely on luonteeltaan etsiv\u00e4 ja avoin prosessi jossa kuva rakentuu paikoin tiedostamattomien ja ennalta arvaamattomien aspektien vaikutuksesta.<\/span><\/p>\n

Intuitiivinen tekeminen ohjaa ty\u00f6skentely\u00e4 eteenp\u00e4in ja sen kautta l\u00f6ytyy ratkaisu ja merkitys kuvien luomiselle. Decoration 3.0<\/i> linkitt\u00e4\u00e4 omiin suuntiinsa vapaasti kehittyneet yksitt\u00e4iset teokset yhdeksi isommaksi kokonaisuudeksi.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kitschiin yhdistett\u00e4v\u00e4 estetiikka sek\u00e4 digipainettujen kankaiden massatuotetun kaltainen olemus korostaa kuvien \u201cpinnallista\u201d luonnetta. Kontrastina t\u00e4lle toimivat vesiv\u00e4rimaalaukset jotka muistuttavat hauraalla olemuksellaan kuvan ainutlaatuisuudesta ja herkkyydest\u00e4, noudattaen kuitenkin samaa visuaalista kielt\u00e4 kuin digipainetut kankaat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teosten kuva- ja v\u00e4rikieli sen r\u00e4ikeydell\u00e4\u00e4n, tuo mieleen populaarikulttuurin esteettiset vaikutteet ja graffitin. Kuitenkin esimerkiksi Kindergarten<\/i>-vesiv\u00e4rimaalauksen hidas valmistusprosessi, litte\u00e4 olemus sek\u00e4 ihmisfiguureita yhdistelev\u00e4 asetelma voi vied\u00e4 ajatuksia osittain my\u00f6s mosaiikin tai ikonimaalausten suuntaan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vesiv\u00e4rimaalaukset ja niiden suhde digipainettuihin kankaisiin on hybridi, jossa erilaiset esteettiset vaikutteet, valmistusmetodit ja materiaalit kollaasimaisesti sekoittuvat ja rinnastuvat kesken\u00e4\u00e4n.<\/span><\/p>\n

BIO: <\/span>Mikko Luostarinen<\/b> (s. 1993) asuu ja ty\u00f6skentelee Helsingiss\u00e4.
\n<\/span>Viime vuodet h\u00e4n on ty\u00f6skennellyt vesiv\u00e4rimaalauksen sek\u00e4 tekstiilisuunnittelun parissa.
\n<\/span>H\u00e4n valmistui kuvataiteen maisteriksi 2020 kev\u00e4\u00e4ll\u00e4. 2018 Mikko osallistui Kuvataideakatemian Kuvan Kev\u00e4t lopputy\u00f6n\u00e4yttelyyn sek\u00e4 yksityisn\u00e4yttelyyn Kuvataideakatemian Project Room galleriassa. 2016\u20132017 Mikko oli vuoden Japanissa, Tsukuban yliopistossa opiskelijavaihdossa. H\u00e4n on osallistunut useisiin ryhm\u00e4n\u00e4yttelyihin Suomessa sek\u00e4 ulkomailla.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thematics of ornament and decoration are intertwined to form the fundament of the artworks in this exhibition.<\/p>\n

The main motivation behind the production process is the development of visual expression as such. The characteristics of the production take the form of a seeking, open process in which the picture is built up, in places, with the help of the influence of subconscious and unpredictable aspects. Intuitive work guides the process forward and forms the means through which the solution and meaning behind the creation of the images is found. The individual works, each of which have developed freely in their own direction are linked together in Decoration 3.0<\/em> as a single larger entity.<\/p>\n

The \u201csuperficial\u201d nature of the printed images is highlighted in their kitsch-esque aesthetics as well as in the essence of the digitally printed fabrics, similar to mass production. Contrasting this, the watercolor paintings mirror with their fragile essence the uniqueness and sensitivity of the images all the while following the same visual language as the digitally printed fabrics.<\/p>\n

The imagery and colors of the works conjure up with their brashness the aesthetic influences of popular culture and graffiti. However for example the watercolor work Kindergarten,<\/i>\u00a0with its combination of slow preparation, flat appearance and a composition of human figures, can take one\u2019s thoughts in some ways towards religious icon paintings and mosaics.<\/p>\n

The watercolor paintings and their relation to the digitally printed fabrics is a hybrid which both combines as well as contrasts different aesthetic influences, production methods and materials in a collage-like fashion.<\/p>\n

BIO: Mikko Luostarinen<\/b> (b. 1993) lives and works in Helsinki.
\nDuring the last few years he has been involved in watercolor painting as well as in textile design.
\nHe graduated as Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in the Spring of 2020. In 2018 Mikko participated in the graduation work exhibition of the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, Kuvan Kev\u00e4t. In the same year he held a solo exhibition in the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts\u2019 Project Room gallery. In the years 2016 to 2017 Mikko spent a year in Japan as an exchange student at the University of Tsukuba. He has taken part in several group exhibitions both in Finland as well as internationally.<\/p>\n
