Work Work<\/strong> on kollektiivisesti duunattu, koettu ja ihmetelty projekti, jonka keski\u00f6ss\u00e4 py\u00f6rii kysymyksi\u00e4 yhdess\u00e4 ty\u00f6skentelyst\u00e4, ty\u00f6n merkityksist\u00e4 ja tuottavuudesta. Installaatio koostuu saunam\u00f6kist\u00e4, videoista, nauhoitetuista keskusteluista ja \u00e4\u00e4nimaisemasta. Ty\u00f6ryhm\u00e4mme l\u00e4hestyy ty\u00f6n ja erityisesti \u201dtuottavan\u201d tai \u201doikean\u201d ty\u00f6n koukeroisia k\u00e4sitteit\u00e4 konkreettisen ja fyysisen toiminnan kautta. Osittain sattumalta toiminta kanavoitui yhteiseksi saunanrakennusprojektiksi. <\/span><\/p>\n

Kokeilujen ja erehdysten (sek\u00e4 useiden rimojen ja ruuvien) j\u00e4lkeen kierr\u00e4tetyist\u00e4 puukappaleista rakentui sauna, jonka synty\u00e4 olemme dokumentoineet videoin ja nauhoituksin. J\u00e4nnitt\u00e4v\u00e4ll\u00e4 tavalla ty\u00f6 on tuntunut yht\u00e4 aikaa todella t\u00e4rke\u00e4lt\u00e4 ja tuottavalta sek\u00e4 aivan j\u00e4rjett\u00f6m\u00e4lt\u00e4. Ty\u00f6skentelymetodiamme voisi verrata majan rakentamiseen lapsena; into ja itsetekemisen vieh\u00e4tys ylitt\u00e4v\u00e4t puutteet ja ep\u00e4ilyt osaamisesta – t\u00e4rkeint\u00e4 on itse toiminta, johon uppoutua. Aikakautena, jolloin ty\u00f6 on suurimmaksi osaksi eri ruutujen parissa toimimista melkein mihin kellonaikaan tahansa, koemme t\u00e4rke\u00e4ksi etsi\u00e4 ty\u00f6h\u00f6n uutta rytmi\u00e4, l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 nautintoa ruumiillisesta ty\u00f6st\u00e4 ja kysy\u00e4: Miksi teemme ty\u00f6t\u00e4? <\/span><\/p>\n

* This time we will not have an opening. We follow the corona precautions in other ways too, so normal visits will be safe. Welcome!<\/span><\/p>\n

Work Work<\/strong> is a collectively made, experienced and marveled project. It asks questions about working together and about the significance and productivity of work. The installation constitutes of a sauna, video, recorded discussions and a sound scape. Our group approaches the complex concept of \u201cproductive\u201d and \u201creal\u201d work through concrete and physical action, which partly by accident was chosen to be a collective sauna building project.<\/span><\/p>\n

After tryouts and mistakes (and with many screws and battens) sauna was built from recycled wood. The birth of the sauna was documented by video and sound recordings which function as a part of the installation. In an exciting and a weird way the work has felt extremely important as well as productive and yet totally insane. Our working methodology could be assimilated with children\u2019s way of building a hut; the enthusiasm and charm of self-making exceed the deficiency and doubts of know-how – more important is the activity where you can immerse yourself. During these times when work largely consists of staring at different screens at any time of the day, we want to emphasize the importance of finding new rhythms for our work, enjoying the physical work and asking: Why do we work?<\/span><\/p>\n

Behind this interdisciplinary installation operate dance artists Sanni Giordani<\/strong>, Iiro N\u00e4kki<\/strong>, Elisa Tuovila<\/strong> and Oskari Turpeinen<\/strong>, media artist Kasperi M\u00e4ki-Reinikka<\/strong> and musician Ben Rogers<\/strong>. The soundscape in the exhibition space is composed by Viljami Lehtonen<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n
