MIELELL\u00c4NI \u2013 maalauksia 2025<\/strong>

Kotini, kotitilani oli Konnevedell\u00e4. Is\u00e4ni, Karjalan evakko, oli raivannut peltoa paljain k\u00e4sin.
L\u00e4hdin kotoani, ty\u00f6tt\u00f6myyst\u00f6in\u00e4 kuivatun j\u00e4rven rannalta 16-vuotiaana vuonna 1971 Limingan taidekouluun.

P\u00e4\u00e4sin Taideteolliseen korkeakouluun opiskelemaan kauppaopistosta.
Valmistuin 1994 taiteen maisteriksi, kuvismaikaksi. V\u00e4lill\u00e4 olin Pariisissa, Wieniss\u00e4, el\u00e4kevirassa.
Maalasin ja pidin n\u00e4yttelyit\u00e4.

Tein valokuvausta ja graafista suunnittelua, videoita ja elokuvia.
Taideopetusta, p\u00e4tk\u00e4t\u00f6it\u00e4, tuntit\u00f6it\u00e4. Asuntolaina, perhe.

Maalauksillani ei yleens\u00e4 ole nimi\u00e4. Etsin liikett\u00e4 ja rytmi\u00e4, omaa liikett\u00e4 – mielen liikett\u00e4. V\u00e4rien vuorovaikutus on suuri voima. Etsin liikett\u00e4 my\u00f6s aikidossa (japanilainen budolaji).

Helpotuksena katsojalle maalauksissani voi hahmottaa horisontin. Ty\u00f6n iloa sarjassa on rakennusmiehi\u00e4 ty\u00f6ss\u00e4. Tosin piilossa v\u00e4rien seassa. Maalasin ateljeetaloni rakentamisen tunnelman, muistikuvan. Kaikki oli mukavaa ja sujuvaa \u2013 iloa ja yst\u00e4vyytt\u00e4. Sellaista ty\u00f6 parhaimmillaan on! Rakentaminen on luovaa ty\u00f6t\u00e4: ensin oli vain ajatus.

Sotien j\u00e4lkeen syntyneen\u00e4 minulla on v\u00e4\u00e4ristynyt, lapsellinen suhde taiteeseen. 1950 \u2013 60-luvulla ei ollut lehdiss\u00e4 juurikaan v\u00e4rej\u00e4, kirjoissakin oli vain v\u00e4h\u00e4n v\u00e4rikuvia, TV oli mustavalkoinen. Tyhji\u00e4 seini\u00e4 oli paljon. Nyt kaikki on v\u00e4rillist\u00e4, muuallakin kuin joulukirkossa.

Taideteos on ongelma. Gallerioita ja n\u00e4yttelyit\u00e4 on paljon. Museot ovat t\u00e4ynn\u00e4.
Mihin kaikki taide sopii?

Mit\u00e4 j\u00e4rke\u00e4 t\u00e4ss\u00e4 on? Materiaalit, ty\u00f6huone, kuljetukset, matkat ja majoitukset, menetetty ty\u00f6aika\u2026Oma matka antaa merkityksi\u00e4 ja kauneutta arkeen ja ty\u00f6h\u00f6n. Mottoni on:\u00a0Mit\u00e4p\u00e4 se minulle kuuluu, mit\u00e4 min\u00e4 teen. Zen viisaus: Just do it. (Nike lainasi nimen Kreikan voitonjumalalta ja sloganin zenbuddhismilta). Mieli tekee ja aivot yritt\u00e4\u00e4 olla j\u00e4rkev\u00e4. V\u00e4lill\u00e4 t\u00e4ytyy yritt\u00e4\u00e4 olla kunnollinen. V\u00e4lill\u00e4 voi maalata.

\u00c4\u00e4niteokset syntyiv\u00e4t siten, ett\u00e4 kerran p\u00e4\u00e4tinkin muuntaa sis\u00e4isen liikkeeni ja rytmini \u00e4\u00e4niksi. Soitin ensin koskettimilla ja sitten kitaralla tai kaksi kertaa koskettimilla. \u00c4\u00e4niteokseni eiv\u00e4t ole musiikkia, vaan soitettua maalaamista.

WITH MY MIND \u2013 paintings 2025<\/strong>

My home, my homefarm was in Konnevesi. My father, an evacuee from Karelia, had cleared a field with his bare hands. I left my home in 1971, on the shore of a dried-up lake, as an unemployment job, to study at the Liminka Art School.

I got into the University of Art and Design Helsinki to study from the College of Commerce. I graduated in 1994 with a Master of Arts in Fine Arts, a degree in illustration. Sometimes I was in Paris, Vienna.

I did photography and graphic design, videos and films.
Art teaching, odd jobs, hourly jobs.

My paintings usually don’t have names. I look for movement and rhythm, my own movement – the movement of the mind. The interaction of colors is a great power. I also look for movement in aikido (a Japanese budo style).

Viewer can see the horizon in my paintings. In the Joy of Work series, there are construction workers at work. Although hidden among the colors. I painted the atmosphere of the construction of my studio house, a memory. Everything was nice and smooth \u2013 joy and friendship. That’s what work is at its best! Construction is creative work: first there was just an idea.

Born after the wars, I have a distorted, childish relationship with art. In the 1950s and 60s, there were hardly any colors in magazines, there were only a few color pictures in books, and TV was black and white. There were many empty walls. Now everything is colored, even in places other than Christmas church.

A work of art is a problem. There are many galleries and exhibitions. Museums are full of art.
What is the point of my art? Materials, studio, transportation, travel and accommodation, lost working time\u2026 My own journey gives meaning and beauty to everyday life and work. My motto is: What does it matter to me, what do I do? Zen wisdom: Just do it. (Nike borrowed the name from the Greek god of victory and the slogan from Zen Buddhism). The mind does it and the brain tries to be rational. Sometimes you have to try to be decent. Sometimes you can just paint.

The sound works were created when I decided to transform my inner movement and rhythm into sounds. I first played the keyboard and then the guitar or twice the keyboard. My sound works are not music, but played painting.
